Comprehensive Character Creation Guide

By using this guide, you will learn the entire process of creating your character and making it worthy of belonging to a One Piece RP universe.

Just follow the steps in order as best as you can to make this process as smooth as possible. The links to all relevant pages are included at the end of each step.
Any steps with an asterisk(*) require a mod's approval before being finalized. You can request approvals from mods in the Waiting Room. However, if you are in the Discord Server, we recommend that you use the #approval-requests channel.

Feel free to join our DISCORD Server: Revival Dawn, where you'll likely find someone around no matter the time of day or night.

CREATING YOUR FIRST CHARACTER

Step 0: If you have not read the General Rules yet, you must do so first before proceeding further.

Step 1 (optional): Read the background story of the site to get acquainted with the Lore. See if it's to your liking before you make a commitment to RPing on the site. This step is entirely optional, and you can always come back to it later.

Step 2: If you want to use an avatar, you must make a Face Claim of the avatar you wish to use. You must make this claim even if this is custom art you found on the internet. Skip this step if you don't want to use an avatar or if you plan to use your own art.

Step 3: Once you have made your face claim, you must go to the Starting Bonuses page. You will roll a die here, which will determine what kind of potential bonuses you get. (Bonus stats, bonus berries, bonus abilities). You must not skip this step, as it will also give you an idea of which items or abilities you cannot have from the very start. You may choose to not use the bonuses acquired from your roll if you so wish.

Step 4*: Now before you begin writing up your character, you must decide whether you want to use a devil fruit or not. If you do, you must go to the Devil Fruit Claims page and ensure that the devil fruit you wish to use is available for use. If it is, you may claim it there. Skip this step if you do not wish to use a devil fruit.

Note: Your character must start out in one of the Blues. However, your history and your hometown in your character's bio can involve islands from even the Grand Line as long as you explain how your character ended up in the Blues.

Step 5*: You may now finally proceed to the Character Bio sub-forum in the Character Creation section, where you will assemble your character's bio. Use the character bio template to learn which information is required for your character to be constructed. The template is fairly self-explanatory.

Step 6: Now before you proceed any further, it is imperative that you skim the Leveling Guide and Combat Guide to help you better comprehend the following steps.

Step 7*: Once you're acquainted with the combat system, you may create special Equipment for your character. Each new character starts out with two Tier 1 pieces of equipment. These equipment do not have to represent all the gear that your character carries. They are simply two pieces of gear that you'd like to get bonus stats from. These equipment pieces need to be physical and destructible. Beyond that, they can be anything you wish (e.g. weapons, clothing articles, keepsakes, vehicles, robotic body parts).

Step 7.5*: There is currently a promotion for new characters on Revival Dawn which allows you to start your character off at level 10. If you're interested in giving your character a jump start, check out Pioneers of Revival Dawn!

Step 8*: The next step is to assign your Stats as Revival Dawn's combat system revolves around these.

Step 9*: Now you may begin creating your Fighting Style. There is a separate template for Devil Fruit Fighting Styles and Non-Devil Fruit Fighting Styles.

Step 10*: Next, you must create a page to help you (and others) keep track of everything related to your character. You can use the Personal Tracker template for this. Once you have made your personal tracker, you must link it in the approval requests so a staff member can update your profile to link to it.

Once you have completed the above steps, you are entirely ready to begin role-playing. The following steps will only help you enhance that experience.

Step 11: If you are looking for someone to RP with long-term by becoming their crew-mate or colleague, you can create a crew in the Crew Creation section. Alternatively, you may look through the open crews and see if one piques your interest. You may then PM the crew's leader to request a spot if they happen to be recruiting.

Step 12*: You can't exactly cross the seas by swimming across them (at least not when you start). You need a ship. If you've created your own crew, or wish to sail alone, you can create your first ship/boat/vehicle in the Ship Creation section.

If you made it to this point, you are doubly ready to take on the world. You may now proceed to The Docks in the Discussion section, in search of RPs to join. Alternatively, you can talk to your new friends on the Discord Server to set things up, or simply jump into any open RPs.

DEATH AND LEGACY REVIVAL

Revival Dawn stages a mature plot-line in which there is no room for reversal of a character's finalized death. However, we completely understand that perma-death can lead to a loss of motivation, considering the daunting task that would involve climbing up the ladder all over again after having spent months or even years behind your character. And so, Revival Dawn offers a legacy system that allows you to benefit from having previously had a character that died. If you had a character that died, please follow the steps listed below to benefit from the Legacy Revival System.

Note: Only characters who had reached at least level 20 before their deaths are qualified for Legacy Revival.

Step 1: Create a new account under the name of your new character, and contact an admin mentioning your previous character's death, and that you'd like to use Legacy Revival. Once the admin has verified your previous character's status, the admin will contact you with their approval, and you may begin building your new character using the guide above.

Step 2: This time, however, you may start your character off 20 levels below the level your previous character died at. For example, if your character was level 80 when it died, your new character may start at any level up to level 60. (Minimum starting level is 10 when doing doing a legacy revival.)

Step 3: Your new character may start with up to half of the wealth and bounty/reputation that your previous character had amassed.

Step 4: You may keep your starting bonus from your previous character and all of the special perks earned subsequently. Alternatively, you may re-roll for your starting bonus up to three times and pick the best roll.

Step 5: If you had any territories in Paradise or the Blues, you may pick a single territory from among them, that you would like to inherit. However, you must do an Episode quest to explain how your new character inherited that territory.
Note: You may only do this if your character was the leader of the owner group and all of the remaining members of the owner group are either dead, or have renounced their claim on that territory.

These are all the benefits that are offered for a Legacy Revival. This system will surely set you on your way for a second coming.
