Due to the prison's limited space, he ends up in a cell adjacent to that of Lady Saltblood, a pirate and former captain of the Seabird. Over the next several months, they develop a friendship that may have even become something more if given time. However, several months after his arrest, new evidence comes to light that absolves Teslan of the crime and he is quickly released from prison in the same year. Yet his brief relationship with Lady Saltblood stains the rest of his life. A rumor had gotten out that Saltblood had given Teslan information about the location of where she'd buried a significant portion of her treasure. As her loyal crew had all perished in a last stand against the Marines, he would be the only one who would know its location. Before she'd been arrested, she'd had most of it buried there, in the hopes of offering the location later to bargain for a lighter sentence. Due to this rumor, Teslan quickly became a magnet for unsavory types. As a result he joined the Marines and looked for work in Marine locations with the heaviest security and fortification. He also had a wife and son who were forced to remain home most of the time, rarely allowed anywhere else unless he was certain of their security and safety. As a result, Teslan's son William grew up mostly isolated and confined to his home, with only a single window in his room showing a view of the ocean from high up. Due to his stifling upbringing, there was only one career path he would inevitably trod down.
1799-After 5 years of fruitless negotiations, Lady Saltblood is executed only days before the turn of the century. She never revealed the location of her treasure to the Marines.

1804-(Zora, Rurinojiko (uncharted), South Blue)-on a frigid island located close to the Southern Pole, Robert is found next to a dumpster at the back of a small fish and chips eatery with only his birth certificate to keep him company. He's dumped on the front steps of an isolated building serving as the local orphanage.
1804-For the next six years, Robert grows up in Zora's orphanage under the watchful eye of Ms. Aridwell, a strict, no-nonsense woman with a nack for devising unique punishments that would make a nun blush. It was here he learnt the value of money. He was a weak and sickly boy.
1805-Teslan's wife passes away. William Teslan runs away from home to become a pirate.
1807-A man and a woman Robert remembers only as the "strangers" visit the orphanage. They claim to be Oharan scholars who visited the island to witness a rare celestial phenomenon. However, the reins holding their horse to the cart broke, and they stopped by the orphanage in the hopes that it might have a spare. The strangers are in luck and eagerly purchase the replacement reins. Before they leave, the male suggests Ms. Aridwell take the children and caretakers to a prime spot to view it. She declined. The male offered to mark the spot anyways in case she changed her mind. He then mentioned the importance of broadening the children's minds before both departed the orphanage. Later, despite his frail state, Robert snuck out of the orphanage and traveled to the predetermined spot. The strangers weren't there, but the male's tie was wrapped around one of the branches. After witnessing the celestial event, Robert became very inquisitive from that point on wards. He also began wearing the tie.
1807->1812-Robert becomes stronger.
1812-Robert, as well as two fellow orphans King and Torquay (a devil fruit user) depart for Karate Island to learn martial arts. However, they were kidnapped along the way. It was on board the pirate ship "Request" that he met the "Gentleman", its sunglasses wearing captain, and his "pet", a sunburnt man missing both hands and led by the captain via a fishing line, with the hook embedded in his tongue. Robert knew instantly that the Gentleman was not to be messed with. Robert and King were enslaved as the Gentleman's cabin boys, but Torquay wasn't as "fortunate". Before the boys could officially "join", they needed to be vetted. The Gentleman considered any devil fruit users a liability, as they might eventually rival him for power. Thus he had all three thrown into the sea.
1812->1813 Robert and King serve as the Gentleman's cabin boys. Robert found that the Gentleman didn't respect Marsh as the pirate king, and frequently referred to him as "Whore Marsh". He was clever enough to disguise his ship as a plain merchant ship whenever the marines where around.
1813-Robert takes a sip of an expensive wine out of curiosity. However, the Gentleman discovered the ruse but King covered for him and selflessly took the blame. However, the Gentleman was ruthless in his punishment. He had several of the crew members break King's limbs, including a reluctant Robert. The disabled King was then tossed overboard to drown. Robert managed to escape a month later. He found himself on Torino island with a broken arm. Here he learnt a bit about healing, as well as the flying rockets. From here he developed an interest in explosives, fireworks, and even technology. A few months and a healed arm later he traveled to Black Drum Island, where he met and began an apprenticeship under Benjamin.
1818-After an invention of his explodes during a demonstration and causes irreperrable damage, Benjamin Teslan retires in disgrace. A month later, the Free Wave Pirates under the command of Black Will Binnacle of the Untempered Storm invade Teslan's home, taking him hostage and forcing Robert to escape. However, Teslan was able to resume contact with his apprentice through a barred basement window. He begged Robert to bring him a vial of cyanide kept hidden in his workshop. He also told Robert about the Gijutsu Gijutsu No Mi, which he also kept in his workshop. He'd found it years earlier, but kept it only as a possible backup. Teslan had wanted to build a reputation of technological merit off of his own hard work rather than the ability of the fruit. He offered it to Robert as a sort of consolation for being unable to continue his training. Robert wasn't happy with his newly assigned task, but did it anyways. He managed to locate both the fruit and the cyanide, and only passed the poison through the bars in the hopes that death would save his mentor from torture, likely for the location of the treasure. In return, Teslan handed him a book full of riddles leading to the treasure's location. Saltblood had told him the riddles years earlier, and he'd obviously written them down. The trade completed, Robert stowed away on a boat in the middle of the night, and sailed to Baterilla Island.
1818-On Baterilla Robert joined an acting troupe after he'd spotted the flag of the Free Wave Pirates on the horizon and didn't want them on his tail. He learned how to act, disguise himself, and even fiddling during his time with the troupe. Additionally, the members of the troupe also acted as subtle bounty hunters. They'd play fictional characters, charm their targets, sedate them, and turn them in. After two years with the troupe, Robert decided to sail to the Briss Kingdom, curious to see more of the world.
1820-In the Briss Kingdom Robert met a crew of explorers planning to sail to Laugh Tale. However, on their way up reverse mountain a mutiny occurred. In the midst of the fighting Robert stole a boat and some provisions, and made his way into the Grand Line on his own. The ship he was traveling on was smashed to smithereens. Robert sailed for several days, only reluctantly eating the fruit after all his available provisions had been exhausted and the starvation had grown too much for him. Much like his mentor, he'd also wanted to build a reputation as an engineer without the help of the fruit. Ironically, only an hour after having a bit of the fruit, his boat passed by a small island that he might have been able to swim to. Might have. Eventually, he did manage to make it to another island, where he was eventually rescued. He also began training his devil fruit powers. He had them anyways, might as well use them.
1822-Robert joins the marines.
1823-Robert departs Enies Lobby under the command of a captain with the ability of the "team-team fruit". This fruit allowed its user to grant boosts in stats, but only to people they genuinely wanted to have these boosts. However, due to a mistake made by the navigator, the ship ended up in the Calm Belt. Eventually, the crew (minus Robert and a few others) resorted to cannibalism in an event that eventually came to be informally known as the "Cannibal Lord incident". The fish man cook and the navigator were the first unfortunate victims. Later victims included members of the Merry pirates, sailing the Merry Joy. This ship had also had the misfortune of being stuck in the Calm Belt. However, the Merry Joy had a unique (and stolen) simple motor. It was broken of course. But Robert's newfound abilities allowed him to fix it and after a harrowing chase he, a few mutinous marines, and a few of the Merry Joy pirates managed to sail the Merry Joy to Impel Down. Here the Merry Joy pirates were imprisoned, and the surviving marines were ordered to keep quiet about this incident, though rumors still eventually leaked out.
1824-Sailing the Tarai Current, Robert eventually returned to Marineford on the same day Ana D. Mire was located and arrested. He joined the war on the side of the Marines.
1/26/1825-Robert fought in the battle of Marineford. He was injured when the Tower of Justice fell. Robert was later saved from the rubble by a fellow marine, Jeremiah. He was pleased to learn that the asshole who'd dropped the Tower of Justice his head had gone down with his ship. Only two months later Jeremiah was executed by a trigger happy captain based on inaccurate information. Robert and a few friends had found evidence proving his innocence, but were mere minutes too late to prevent Jeremiah's execution. Robert and six others later resigned in protest.
1826-Robert joined a treasure hunting crew sailing on the "Gull" (and not searching for Lady Saltblood's treasure). They were eventually successful in their endeavor. However, one of the crew members, Basco, betrayed the rest to a gang of pirates. The pirates boarded the "Gull" and killed the entire crew except for Robert and Basco. Robert shot Basco in the the back of the head, bombed the ship, and escaped with the treasure in a life boat. He was found by the marines only a day later. While Robert will willingly tell this tale, he always omits one crucial detail. He'd overheard Basco relaying details of the attack to the pirate captain, and neglected to tell the captain of the "Gull" as he'd wanted to keep the treasure for himself. He later moved to a relatively small, obscure, out of the way island with a dormant volcano.
1827-As it turned out, the volcano wasn't completely dormant. It erupted, engulfing the island in lava and killing most of its inhabitants. Robert was one of the lucky few to survive. It was later learned that members of the upper levels of the island's society had eliminated a few volcanologists, hoping to profit from the insurance provided after the disaster. Several months later the Weissman hotel massacre occurred, where these members were all found slaughtered with only one badly mutilated survivor left alive. Robert hasn't been connected to this incident. He made sure to hide his identity when he bought off the guards protecting the island's aristocrats. The other island's occupants had done the rest.
1829-Robert travels to Water 7 where he finds a job working on the sea trains.

However, as others have mentioned already, you cannot start out with the D initial in your name. The Will of D is earned as a perk by completing a challenge. Until then, you may not even insinuate that your character has the D.
If you acquire this perk in the future, you can backfill your history and expose your D. Just try not to get arrested for indecent exposure afterwards.

1/26/1825-Robert fought in the battle of Marineford. He was injured when the Tower of Justice fell. Robert was later saved from the rubble by a fellow marine, Jeremiah. He was pleased to learn that the asshole who'd dropped the Tower of Justice his head had gone down with his ship. [ Rood! ] Only two months later Jeremiah was executed by a trigger happy captain based on inaccurate information. Robert and a few friends had found evidence proving his innocence, but were mere minutes too late to prevent Jeremiah's execution. Robert and six others later resigned in protest.
1826-Robert joined a treasure hunting crew sailing on the "Gull" (and not searching for Lady Saltblood's treasure). They were eventually successful in their endeavor. However, one of the crew members, Basco, betrayed the rest to a gang of pirates. The pirates boarded the "Gull" and killed the entire crew except for Robert and Basco. Robert shot Basco in the the back of the head, bombed the ship, and escaped with the treasure in a life boat. He was found by the marines only a day later. While Robert will willingly tell this tale, he always omits one crucial detail. He'd overheard Basco relaying details of the attack to the pirate captain, and neglected to tell the captain of the "Gull" as he'd wanted to keep the treasure for himself. He later moved to a relatively small, obscure, out of the way island with a dormant volcano.
1827-As it turned out, the volcano wasn't completely dormant. It erupted, engulfing the island in lava and killing most of its inhabitants. Robert was one of the lucky few to survive. It was later learned that members of the upper levels of the island's society had eliminated a few volcanologists, hoping to profit from the insurance provided after the disaster. Several months later the Weissman hotel massacre occurred, where these members were all found slaughtered with only one badly mutilated survivor left alive. Robert hasn't been connected to this incident. He made sure to hide his identity when he bought off the guards protecting the island's aristocrats. The other island's occupants had done the rest.
1829-Robert travels to Water 7 where he finds a job working on the sea trains.

1805-Teslan's wife passes away. William Teslan runs away from home to become a pirate.
1807-A man and a woman Robert remembers only as the "strangers" visit the orphanage. They claim to be Oharan scholars who visited the island to witness a rare celestial phenomenon. However, the reins holding their horse to the cart broke, and they stopped by the orphanage in the hopes that it might have a spare. The strangers are in luck and eagerly purchase the replacement reins. Before they leave, the male suggests Ms. Aridwell take the children and caretakers to a prime spot to view it. She declined. The male offered to mark the spot anyways in case she changed her mind. He then mentioned the importance of broadening the children's minds before both departed the orphanage. Later, despite his frail state, Robert snuck out of the orphanage and traveled to the predetermined spot. The strangers weren't there, but the male's tie was wrapped around one of the branches. After witnessing the celestial event, Robert became very inquisitive from that point on wards. He also began wearing the tie.
1807->1812-Robert becomes stronger.
1812-Robert, as well as two fellow orphans King and Torquay (a devil fruit user) depart for Karate Island to learn martial arts. However, they were kidnapped along the way. It was on board the pirate ship "Request" that he met the "Gentleman", its sunglasses wearing captain, and his "pet", a sunburnt man missing both hands and led by the captain via a fishing line, with the hook embedded in his tongue. Robert knew instantly that the Gentleman was not to be messed with. Robert and King were enslaved as the Gentleman's cabin boys, but Torquay wasn't as "fortunate". Before the boys could officially "join", they needed to be vetted. The Gentleman considered any devil fruit users a liability, as they might eventually rival him for power. Thus he had all three thrown into the sea.
1812->1813 Robert and King serve as the Gentleman's cabin boys. Robert found that the Gentleman didn't respect Marsh as the pirate king, and frequently referred to him as "Whore Marsh". He was clever enough to disguise his ship as a plain merchant ship whenever the marines where around.
1813-Robert takes a sip of an expensive wine out of curiosity. However, the Gentleman discovered the ruse but King covered for him and selflessly took the blame. However, the Gentleman was ruthless in his punishment. He had several of the crew members break King's limbs, including a reluctant Robert. The disabled King was then tossed overboard to drown. Robert managed to escape a month later. He found himself on Torino island with a broken arm. Here he learnt a bit about healing, as well as the flying rockets. From here he developed an interest in explosives, fireworks, and even technology. A few months and a healed arm later he traveled to Black Drum Island, where he met and began an apprenticeship under Benjamin.
1818-After an invention of his explodes during a demonstration and causes irreperrable damage, Benjamin Teslan retires in disgrace. A month later, the Free Wave Pirates under the command of Black Will Binnacle of the Untempered Storm invade Teslan's home, taking him hostage and forcing Robert to escape. However, Teslan was able to resume contact with his apprentice through a barred basement window. He begged Robert to bring him a vial of cyanide kept hidden in his workshop. He also told Robert about the Gijutsu Gijutsu No Mi, which he also kept in his workshop. He'd found it years earlier, but kept it only as a possible backup. Teslan had wanted to build a reputation of technological merit off of his own hard work rather than the ability of the fruit. He offered it to Robert as a sort of consolation for being unable to continue his training. Robert wasn't happy with his newly assigned task, but did it anyways. He managed to locate both the fruit and the cyanide, and only passed the poison through the bars in the hopes that death would save his mentor from torture, likely for the location of the treasure. In return, Teslan handed him a book full of riddles leading to the treasure's location. Saltblood had told him the riddles years earlier, and he'd obviously written them down. The trade completed, Robert stowed away on a boat in the middle of the night, and sailed to Baterilla Island.
1818-On Baterilla Robert joined an acting troupe after he'd spotted the flag of the Free Wave Pirates on the horizon and didn't want them on his tail. He learned how to act, disguise himself, and even fiddling during his time with the troupe. Additionally, the members of the troupe also acted as subtle bounty hunters. They'd play fictional characters, charm their targets, sedate them, and turn them in. After two years with the troupe, Robert decided to sail to the Briss Kingdom, curious to see more of the world.
1820-In the Briss Kingdom Robert met a crew of explorers planning to sail to Laugh Tale. However, on their way up reverse mountain a mutiny occurred. In the midst of the fighting Robert stole a boat and some provisions, and made his way into the Grand Line on his own. The ship he was traveling on was smashed to smithereens. Robert sailed for several days, only reluctantly eating the fruit after all his available provisions had been exhausted and the starvation had grown too much for him.
