Personality: Page is an odd fellow. Due to his upbringing, he tends to be a hard worker who is determined to do his job no matter how difficult the task. This is seen by his willingness to work all day in his mum's and dad's respective occupations and nonstop training at night. He is relentless in pursuing a job or mission, but he’s not entirely reckless or delusional. Page tends to be a somewhat cautious, timid, and sometimes anxious mess. He’s socially awkward and, more often than not, unsure of himself. He prefers to keep to his books and comics rather than going out partying and socializing with other people. Page is a true introvert at heart, one who perceives his introversion as a weakness and actively seeks to find ways to “come out of his shell.” Hence, that's the reason why he’s taking up boxing. Besides his introversion, which makes him a bit socially awkward, Page is a kind-hearted, compassionate, and humble person who tries to see the good in people.
- History:
Born and raised in a village in the Messenger Kingdom, a small country in the East Blue, Page A. Johannes had a simple and mostly normal life. The only odd thing about him was that he didn’t spend much time with other kids. Instead, he spent most of his time with his parents. His mother owned a small bakery, and his father operated a small printing press. They were busy people, often requiring Page to stay home and help them. So, Page spent most of his time in his mother’s bakery, kneading dough, taking care of customers, or delivering pastries. If he wasn’t with his mom in the bakery, Page was with his dad in his print shop.
Growing up, Page was an odd kid. He admittedly had difficulty socializing with other kids his age, mostly because he spent nearly all his time with his parents. In the few instances that Page had free time, he usually spent it alone, often with a comic book. Eventually, as Page grew older, he started sneaking out of the house to the old boxing ring down the street. After going a couple of times, Page eventually convinced one of the boxers to teach him how to box. But, admittedly, the young lad was a bit too timid to actually fight competitively.
Page’s life would start to change for the worse after the death of King Milton Parcel. The old king, who supported the printing press, would be surpassed by his son, Henry Parcel. Unlike his father, Henry Parcel was not well-liked by the citizens of Messenger Kingdom. Henry was dimwitted, gluttonous, hedonistic, greedy, and ultimately a selfish bastard. Halfway into his reign, Henry nearly bankrupted Messenger Kingdom. And, not being able to handle criticism, Henry outlawed the printing press within a year into his reign.
Of course, being a reporter at heart, Page’s father didn’t relent to the King’s decree. Secretly, under the cover of darkness, James A. Johannes continued his printing press operations. Over time, as King Henry’s reign drove the Kingdom further into ruin and poverty, James Johannes’ writings became more fervently against the monarchy. This persisted and worsened. Slowly but surely, James’ illegal press operation became an anti-government propaganda platform that spoke out against both Henry and the World Government.
