Abel portraits himself as a very kind, generous and polite young man. He's a very self-sacrificing person who refuses to take gifts from others. But he has other another face to that very kind personality which can be referred to as a small-time criminal. Because of the suffering, he has gone through in past. His other personality is that of a thug type person who tries to dominate others with his powers. He refuses to let anyone steal from him but he steals from others in order to put himself in an advantage over any kind of situation.
In Combat:
Abel's in combat personality is a complete turn over of his out of combat personality, as he uses his devil fruit power much more, which makes him go berserk, and he starts showing psychopathic nature where he doesn't kill his enemy but instead torments them mentally and physically to the extent where they even starts forgetting themselves.
- History:
Abel was an orphan who lived in a small Orphanage situated in Mirrorball city. He always dreamt of becoming a Marine, so he can serve the world government and capture many bounty hunters and pirates throughout his career, but it was just a dream because to become a Marine, he needs basic knowledge which he couldn't get without any kind of berries, and as he was living in a small orphanage at the outskirts of the city. One day, his orphanage got destroyed in a battle between Mariners and Pirates, which he regretted the most. As he has nowhere to go or anything to do. He moved to the main capital city, where he started stealing without getting caught because of the stealthiness nature he trained during the time when he always sneaked out of his orphanage to play or to go meet Mariners.
As he did stealing in the main city because of him being a homeless person. One day, when he was running after stealing berries from someone, he ended up entering the back alley of the city, he was surprised by seeing the view it was horrible, that day he found the dark side of the city. It was filled with thugs and criminals who weren't getting caught, dead bodies lying around without being taken care of. He found a house which was almost like a ruin, he then started living there as one day the boss of that dark side came and asked for the compensation for living in that house, as Abel said that he doesn't have any berries on him, he gave him a job of killing a certain person. Abel didn't have much of a choice there as he said that he will also get berries from doing it. As Abel took his job of killing that person, he started moving out, as he was able to kill him near a cliff but he also fell off that cliff and ended up in the sea with his one day missing, which got cut off during the time he was trying to save himself from falling, as he found a weird-looking fruit in the ocean he thought what that is but he was quite hungry at that time, so he didn't wait long but simply eat that fruit to finish his hunger.
After eating that Fruit Abel felt immense pain in this chest, as he started crying out of the pain as he was luckily near the stony surface, he cuddled there in pain grabbing his chest, as that pain started going away, he went unconscious, as some days later he woke up and saw that he still had his hand interact to his body. He didn't know why he felt that pain in his chest after eating that weird-looking fruit but it didn't pay it any mind, as he somehow managed to reach the dark alley of the mirrorball city, as he goes there to meet that boss to get his berries. That that simply refuses to give anything to him, as Abel gets so angry that his anger starts going out of control as he sees his arm growing some kind of beast fangs, he was so surprised by seeing that but he was much more surprised by seeing that the peoples in front of him are scared of him saying that he ate Devil Fruit, Though Abel didn't have a single idea about what they are talking about, so Abel decided to get some knowledge about this fruit and things. But for that he also needs berries, so he takes all assassination missions which are the easy way to earn berries, so he can acquire basic knowledge and join Mariners. As he made his name famous as "14th" by only doing assassinations of the peoples he was told to do so to earn his daily income for knowledge he's short on.
As he was able to learn how to control his devil fruit at will and acquired all the basic knowledge about pirates and other things. He finally decides to join Mariners, as he was able to get into Mariners but he's currently at the lowest level. But he's looking for a higher position, for which he knew that he has to work to his hardest, but he never once thought of giving up on assassinations he's doing currently which he will keep doing under the name of "14th" wearing a mask to not get caught.
