Toro styles his hair in a deviant pompadour fashion, dying a streak of it blonde along with his sideburns and eyebrows.

Like most yakuza, Toro holds to a strict code that he would rather face certain death than dare too break it, holding his honor far above his life. Born into the Yokozuna Crime family, an offshoot fishman clan descended from Wano that has since taken up residence on Nakamara island. Establishing themselves as the local yakuza generations ago, having sold their protection to the poverty stricken citizens, leaving those who could not afford it to the mercy of the ruthless long arm slaver guilds. Since then, they have grown into a small criminal empire, expanding into loaning and gambling, and even sometimes shady dealings with the World Government. Though they prefer to stay in their small corner of Paradise and not bite the hand that feeds them.
Toro however, was anything but small, having killed his mother coming into the world with his sheer size alone. Though it was sad, his father took this as a good omen, being quite proud of the colossus like infant. From that moment on, Toro was groomed to be the next family head, something his father made quite apparent in his methods. Drilling their code of honor and the importance of following into him, over and over as the years went by.
Like the good son he was, Toro soldiered on, carrying out missions and tasks for his father and the family, mainly using his great strength and size to crush any pretenders or traitors that appeared. When the loan sharks collected money, they brought the boy along from the time he was six on, his size at that time rivaling that of most adult human men if not bigger. It was here that he perfected the brutal form of combat he employs today, something that took years and years of practice. Practice that took place during life or death fights, sometimes fights where something far more important than that was wagered.
This led to somewhat of a rebellious period during his teens and early twenties that sometimes still persist even too this day. Having been quite the delinquent, Toro picked fights with the entire upper echelon of the Yokozuna Clan, losing only to his own father. Causing the boy to skip town and venture to the nearby islands, wrecking havoc with his young truant friends.
These days Toro spends most of his time running missions for his father or taking over more and more of his less punchy duties. Mounds and mounds of complaints and paperwork, books to check and money to count, fingers to sever. The same thing day in and day out, leading Toro to question is this really is the life for him.

Having been forced out, Lyre with her surviving Mother fled to the sea in a makeshift raft, ending up on Rusukaina off the coast. There, she was separated from her mother who was intercepted by the Kuja pirates and executed on the spot.
After spending a few miserable weeks alone, barely clinging to life, Lyre happened upon the first bit of luck in her life. Being found by a marine contingent led by the legendary Vagabond Gull, taking the girl under his metaphorical wing and raising her on the ship as a marine brat. It was during this time that she ate her mythical zoan fruit and earned a name in the marines. Eventually being assigned to the 69th Battalion at her surrogate fathers request.

While Winterberry cares deeply for the suffering of others, she dislikes those who refuse to fight back against their oppressors. While simultaneously holding a deep respect for those willing to improve themselves or their surroundings in order to get stronger.
Highly competitive, the only thing she enjoys more than a good fight is a rematch against someone she has deemed as rival in battle. Unfortunately, the Kuja pirates were in tow, using their glorious beast driven vessel. Having been forced out, Lyre with her surviving Mother fled to the sea in a makeshift raft, ending up on Rusukaina off the coast. There, she was separated from her mother when they were attacked by a raging sea king. From there, the young Winterberry drifted to “safety” as she washed ashore on the savage island.

Though at the time, all she knew was that she had found the worst tasting fruit of her life. Of course it wasn’t until much later that she would discover the significance of this incident.

From here the grizzled veteran was stuck with the girl, no matter what he did to get rid of her, she always came back stronger and ready for more. Having tried many a time to abandon her an island or leave her in the care of another. Eventually acknowledging the girls talent, the Gull eventually had her learned in the ways of Rokushiki and taught her more about her the powers she had unknowingly obtained all those years prior.
After officially enlisting in the marines at the age of 12, Lyre quickly rose up the ranks and ended up being assigned to the 69th Battalion at her surrogate father’s request.
