Come one, come all! On February 9, 2021, we will embark on a new World Event together. World Events are designed to progress the site plot and provide player characters with a grand stage to shine or embarrass themselves on. This particular World Event will not be as grandiose as the last one, however, it will allow newer and lower-levelled player characters to better fit in.

World Events are not mandatory. You may choose to not participate in the event. These events are good opportunities for you to RP with characters you may otherwise never get to RP with. They also come with hefty rewards!

This event will revolve around a certain Shichibukai being roped into a scheme which may turn out to be more than he bargained for. The event will take place on an undisclosed island in the South Blue. Members from all major factions will be present at this event with their own agendas to pursue. For more lore details, keep an eye out for News Coo articles and "Meanwhile..." scenes!

There are certain rules you must follow if you choose to participate in the world event. You must also meet the requirements specified below for you to be eligible to participate.

Level Cap: Your character must be level 40 or below.
Character completed: Your character must have a completed and approved bio, equipment, stats, fighting style, and tracker.

Death and Killing: Though death and free PvP is turned on for this quest, you will be restrained through the use of the many important NPCs that may be participating in the quest if you go trigger-happy against your fellow players. Please respect other players’ enthusiasm and only engage them in combat if you are naturally driven towards it as the plot flows. Contrived attempts at slaughtering lower-level players will be disciplined.
Posting Deadlines: Once the event begins, you will be able to split up into RP groups where you can post independently from other groups. Weekly NPC posts will set the pace of the event plot, so, you will still need to follow along. If your group falls behind or gets too far ahead, I will nudge you forward or throttle you accordingly.
Word Count Requirement: While your individual posts can be as long as you want, your total IC word count by the end of the world event must be above 10,000.

Free Travel: If your character is not currently in the South Blue, where the event will be set, they will still be able to participate. The regular sea RP restrictions do not apply to this World Event.
No Faction Restrictions: Members of all factions are eligible to participate in this event.

The world event will have two sets of rewards. One will be standardized base rewards as defined below:
+250 EXP, +800k*(character level)
The usual difficulty and quality score multipliers will be applicable to the above rewards. Your posts will indeed receive quality scores once the event is complete.

There will also be "player's choice" rewards. If at least three players complete the event, we will hold a vote at the end. If at least eight players vote, the following rewards will be given out to the top three voted players:
Ancient Zoan Devil Fruit, Tier 6 Equipment, 3 Start Me Up! re-rolls
The first rank will get first pick, the second rank will get the second pick, and the third rank will have to accept the leftovers. You need to have at least a Quality Score of A to be qualified for these rewards though.

Note: You only need to participate with one of your characters in the event. Once the world event is complete, you will be able to request equivalent rewards for all of your other completed alts. The reason for this system is so that no player feels obligated to force all of their characters into the event for the rewards even if it doesn’t make sense for their personal stories. You will not receive any bonus rewards if you choose to participate with more than one of your characters.

To sign up for participation in the World Event, you simply need to reply to this thread with the character account you want to use by February 8, 2021 12:00 AM EST. Once the event begins, another announcement will be made to declare the thread location.
