Amadeus Z. Rhodes
Basic Character Information
Starting Bonus: Pocket Change
First Name: Amadeus
Middle Name/Initial: Zebidee
Last Name: Rhodes
Epithet: Deadman
Birthdate: July 7th, 1805
Gender: Male
Species/Race/Tribe: Cyborg.
Faction: Bounty Hunter
Profession: Scientist/Navigator
Physical Appearance
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 224 lbs
Hair Style: Tied in a rough ponytail
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Purple
Scars: Numerous scars and stitches run across his body, a testament to his true, cyborg nature.
Clothing and Accessories: For someone who can't see colors, Amadeus' attire is oddly enough, quite color coordinated, the main color bring purple. He wears a purple dress shirt with a black tie, underneath a tattered, dark purple overcoat riddled with stitches.his pants are also purple and patchy. He wears apair of black gloves and black boots. A purple eyepatch covers his left eye.
Description: Standing at 6'2" with a lean, muscular build, he has his black hair tied into a messy ponytail, and some stubble on his chin. He'd almost be considered ruggishly handsome, if not for some key things that make him seem off. His skin is a deathly pale, his right eye almost having as glassy quality to it. While he has some light scarring on his face, underneath his clothes is a patchwork of scars and stitches, making him seem almost like a Frankenstein's monster.
While he appears human, Amadeus is really a cyborg. His arms, legs, eyes, tongue, in fact most of his internal organs are all cybernetic prosthetics. To say he's more machine than man would be scarily accurate. Underneath the eyepatch over his left eye is in fact an incomplete prosthetic, with a black sclera and a red iris.
The Past
Main Traits: Numb, determined, investigative, socially awkward.
Likes: Children, Animals, A plan coming together
Dislikes: Pirates, Cruelty, Slavery
Unique laugh: Fehehehe
Hometown: Ilusia - West Blue
Personality: When the world to you is a black and white, muted landscape, you don't get a lot of opportunities to build character. He's aware that he's less than human, more machine than man, and that most people only tolerate him at best. He's come to terms with this to the point any insults just bounce right off of him. After all, it just let's him focus on his work.
Lacking a sense of taste, Amadeus doesn't really have a favourite food. Honestly, he doesn't have a favourite anything. Everything just feels the same to him. What he does have are things he despises, and those are criminals and pirates. Really, his bounty hunting isn't really much for the money. He just wishes to stop criminals and feels he wouldn't exactly fit in the marines.
If one trait about Amadeus stands out in this muted man, it's determination. He will simply not stop until he completes a job. If he gets messed up in a fight, he'll pull himself back together and come back stronger. If he sets his sights on someone, he will not stop until they're captured.
- History:
The story of Amadeus Rhodes starts not when he was born, but rather four years later. He, his family, along with others from his home town were attacked by a group of pirates and captured. However, these were no ordinary pirates, but slavers and organ harvesters. Half of their catch was sold off, while the other half were chopped up and harvested. The young boy had the misfortune of being in the latter category, stripped clean by these cruel pirates, before his remains were tossed aside.
But the real horror came to one Dr. Isaac Rhodes of Ilusia when he discovered the boy. Whether it was by sheer will, or cruel trickery from a twisted god, the boy was still alive!
Rushing the mutilated child to his clinic, the good doctor utilized every ounce of medical and scientific knowledge he could muster to put the boy back together, replacing his missing parts with prosthetics. After days of labor he finally suceeded, giving the child, whom he named Amadeus, some semblance of a life again.
However, it was a shallow existence. Amadeus could only see the world in black and white. Sounds were muted. He could no longer smell, taste, or feel anything. Despite looking human, he was more machine than man, and everyone else knew it. Amadeus had a lonely life, with only his adopted father for companionship. Not that he was ungrateful. He loved him dearly.
As he grew older, the doctor updated his prosthetics to allow him to grow. His old life faded into memory, and then even faded from them. The only memory to linger was the unyielding agony he felt before the doctor saved him.
And then, on his twentieth year, tragedy struck. A group of bandits broke into the doctor's clinic while Amadeus was running errands. After a confrontation, Dr. Isaac was mortally wounded, only dying just in time for Amadeus to return. Overcome with grief and rage, he hunted the bandits down, attacking and beating them to a pulp, taking heavy damage, but unable to feel the pain. The local authorities arrived before Amadeus could kill them, arresting the bandits and leaving Amadeusto grieve.
Now alone in the world, this tragic event gave Amadeus a new purpose in life. He returned to the clinic, repairing the damage, before installing weaponry into his prosthetics. The pain of the distant past, coupled with this new, emotional pain, pushed Amadeus towards a single goal. To make sure nobody felt this helplessness again. And that meant taking out the ones who cause it.
He burned the clinic down, as a memorial pyre to his late father, before taking what little possessions he had, and departed from Ilusia. Amadeus's new life as a bounty hunter was just beginning.
