Name: Departure Delayed! Pirates Invade Mocha Village!
Category: Episode
Player Participants: Betty Clay (+1)
Planned Location(s): Baterilla
Planned Time Range: February 28, 1829 and March 1, 1829
Summary: After a long day of preparation, Betty is finally ready to rest! Tomorrow, she will embark on a glorious journey in search of One Piece! At least, that's what she planned to do. Unfortunately for Betty, the threat of the President Pirates invading her village sets her back. George Bank and his two commanders, Itch and Scratch, want to claim Mocha Village for their own. Will Betty be able to defend her village from these fiends? And at the end of it all, will she still want to be a pirate?
Watercolors painted the sky on this alluring evening, as the sun began to dip beneath the horizon. Its rays sparkled on the surface of the ocean, glimmering with bright light. Waves crashed unto the sandy coast of Baterilla, an island in the South Blue renowned for both its beautiful beaches and ghastly gangsters. Further inland, there lied a humble town known as Mocha Village. Dwellings built from log lined the outskirts of the hamlet, housing a meager hundreds of inhabitants.
Neighboring the log cabins was a cylindrical stone house with a thatch roof and wooden door. This was the residence of the Clays, an affluent merchant family who comprised of Katsumi and her daughter Betty. The latter was currently outside assembling a raft from wooden logs, in anticipation of her voyage that would commence tomorrow. She had a wooly afro with a chocolate complexion and vivid amber eyes, sporting golden hoop earrings, a plain white sports bra, and navy-blue boxing shorts with a golden yellow trim. Her figure was slender with a buxom chest and broad hips, standing at a height of 5’8” and weighing 138 pounds. After the construction of the raft was complete, Betty wiped the sweat off her forehead and gleamed at the crescent moon. She then pulled out an ancient book, bowed her head in the direction of the moon, and began to softly recite the following words:
“God is great. ‘In the name of God—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful. All praise is for God—Lord of all realms, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgment. You alone we worship and You alone we ask for help. Guide us along the Straight Path, the Path of those You have blessed—not those You are displeased with, or those who are astray.’ Glory be to God…”
She continued the prayer for several minutes, until a familiar voice from outside the door shouted out to her, “Betty, it’s getting dark! Come back inside!” Katsumi was a widow and former slave, so it was only natural that she would be anxious about her daughter’s safety. She had long, straight black hair with caramel skin and dark brown eyes, donning a royal blue dress which drooped down to her ankles.
Betty hauled the raft back to her abode, obeying her mother’s commands. She was preparing to embark on a journey to explore the world and discover One Piece. The idea of freedom had captivated her, and she had been obsessing about becoming a pirate ever since. Betty could barely wait to leave the island and sail the blues, but first she had to rest. When she arrived at the house, the young woman headed to bed and slept for the remainder of the night.
