Emory is known to wear the unique aviator hat open in everyday business however, when battle gets rough and tough, he is known to velcro the chinstrap and tighten it. The unique hat had been given to Emory by his brother Kahedin, whom he was close with. After the incident, Emory started to see the hat as something to remember his brother by.
