Nathan at a glance usually comes off as stern and critical. Though given time, Nathan is generally kind and comforting, good traits for his profession as a doctor. However with Nathan being a doctor, he isn't one to sugar coat things. He can be quite blunt, whether it's what the individual wants to hear or not. Despite this, Nathan is capable of making friends and in him, such friends will find Nathan's honesty to be both a blessing and a curse. Towards people, Nathan is generally very tolerant. Nathan will be loyal to whatever captain crew he is assigned to, but demands control when medical situations/ emergencies arise.
As a doctor, Nathan is fairly stubborn when it comes to the chance to save a life or two. Nathan takes it upon himself as a doctor to help whoever he can if it's within his power. Nathan will provide aid to most anyone regardless if they be Marines, Pirates, or another faction. He takes it upon himself to give treatment where he can help. Though just because he'll save an enemy from death, doesn't mean he'll save them from whatever punishment they receive from the Navy and World Government. When in doctoring mode, Nathan will take complete control and start giving orders so that he can use what precious time is available to Nathan gets a bit of happiness from seeing a patient rejoice that they get to live for a bit longer.
Though Nathan is generally kind and forgiving, he does possess a tipping point. If Nathan is wrongly crossed or taken advantage of, he will show no mercy. His methods of punishment can be quite sadistic. Using his knowledge of the body, Nathan won't kill his enemy, but leave them alive with very high levels of pain.
Nathan generally prefers not to fight if he can help it. Though that doesn't mean he's absolutely helpless in a fight. In battle, Nathan uses his medical knowledge to deal the most effective blows to his enemy.
Nathan has a sour disposition towards pirates in general, due to the impression that his father left on him. However if the situation reaaally calls for it he will reluctantly put aside his differences for the time necessary. Nathan holds more respect for doctors, and will be more willing to work with them. However if he finds doctors that abuse their title for personal gain, that will kill any respect Nathan may have had for that person.
- History:
Nathan D. Greys was born as the son of a well known pirate captain, Amber D. Greys of the Amber Pirates. Though shortly after Nathan's birth, Amber became ill and died. Amber's role as captain was filled by the crew's first mate and Nathan's father, Marco M. Richer and became known as the Richer Pirates. Marco was a man who believed in strength above all other things, and Nathan as an infant was seen by him as weak and not worth Marco's time. Therefore, Nathan was raised by the ship's doctor and his god-mother, Alanna.
From the moment Nathan could walk, Marco began to take interest in Nathan as he could now "do things". Marco tried to teach Nathan how to fight, but Nathan didn't want to fight. This carried on day to day, Marco tried to teach Nathan how to fight, Nathan wouldn't want to, Marco would get frustrated and leave in a huff. Having been raised by Alanna, or Anna as Nathan came to call her, Nathan took an interest in doctoring stuff and being able to help people heal. Anna agreed to teach Nathan and started letting him borrow books to read. Marco didn't see any value in Nathan's reading of books. Marco believed that bruises taught better lessons than books and banned Nathan from reading. Nathan would be forced to train. In his free time, Nathan would hide away and read the medical books given to him by Anna. Anna would also teach him what she knew, and tell him of the great woman and pirate that his mother had been. Over time, old crew members of the Amber Pirates began to leave. Only to be replaced by new members hand picked by Marco.
When Nathan turned 8, Nathan was found by one of Marco's other crew members. Nathan was brought before his father along with the book he'd been reading. Marco was outraged at Nathan's inability to follow his simple orders. Marco challenged Nathan to a duel to show him what good those books did for strength. Nathan for the first little while was able to endure his father's relentless beating. A little bit in, Nathan managed to get in a well placed blow on Marco's leg, bringing Marco to his knee. Furious at being brought to his knee by his weakling child, Marco lashed out and beat the child into unconsciousness and taking a knife to the child's eye. After claiming his victory, Marco deemed Nathan a "failure of an offspring"
Nathan woke to a worried Anna who told him what had happened, breaking the news that he wouldn't see out of his right eye again. After Nathan had stabilized enough, Anna gave him a pack and the snuck out onto the deck in the dead of night. Anna told Nathan that she was getting him off the ship and away from Marco and his crew. Anna got Nathan and herself to one of the row-boats on the ship. As she was lowering the row-boat, Marco an his crew showed up at the bulwark. Marco made a comment about how the "weak flee" before shooting Anna with his flintlock. The rowboat dropped to the water as Anna covered Nathan with her body as more shots rained down from the side of the ship as it passed by.
Then they were alone. Anna breathed heavily as Nathan frantically looked through the pack for medical supplies. Anna stopped Nathan and told him that her wounds were too great for what she had packed. Anna told him that someone would soon come for them. She also told him to remember the stories that she had told him of his mother. The life left her body. Then he was alone.
Two days passed before a ship came across their boat. The ship was a navy vessel that had picked up a distress signal from a transponder snail. The crew was quiet as they pulled the child and corpse on board. Nathan requested that Anna get a proper burial at sea, despite her being a pirate. The captain agreed to allow Nathan's request and asked the child's name, to which Nathan replied "Nathan D. Greys". The captain took interest in Nathan and brought the child back to his base on Loguetown. When the question of what to do with Nathan came about, Nathan requested training to become a marine and doctor. After some consideration, the base commander decided to allow the child to stay on the base and train as a marine.
Ten years Nathan trained as both a doctor and martial artist, studying under the guidance of the base's resident vice-admiral who became a key mentor to Nathan, teaching and training him in the ways of the marine's Rokushiki. On Nathan's 18th birthday, he was presented with a letter and small chest with instructions to give this to Nathan when he was 18. The letter was from Anna telling Nathan that Marco wasn't his true father, that he had caused the death Amber to feed his power hungry ambition. Anna's letter gave him the names of the crew members that had been loyal to the Amber Pirates, and that they might help him to bring down Marco. The letter concluded with telling Nathan that what was inside the chest would help Nathan on his path to becoming a strong doctor that both she and Amber would have been proud of. On his god-mother's advice, Nathan opened the chest to find an oddly shaped fruit with strange swirls about it's surface. Nathan sniffed and took a bite, the taste was so horrendous the surprise caused him to gag and swallow the horrible fruit. Immediately Nathan shifted forms into a frog before changing to a hybrid form and then finally back to his human form. Given some explanation of what had just happened with his consumption of a devil fruit, Nathan understood what his god-mother had done for him. Nathan was determined to make the most of this gift he'd been given. So he began training once more.

I see you've worked hard to finish your character quickly. But, just in case it isn't finished, I will wait until you confirm it. But, before you do, just correct the weight statistic to show the right units. (I'm assuming it's meant to be 160 lbs, not inches.

I fixed the thing and made the change since I forgot to add his position in at the original creation. Possibly cause it was before I'd gone for the position that I'd made the character app. But it should be good to go now. Hadn't realized it'd still been in WIP section.
