Her grandfather, Alaric La Llayne, was a retired marine and the master of his own martial arts school. Her grandmother, Kiwi, was a dancer who taught in her own private studio. Growing up was a series of concussions, high kicks, and the occasional winner’s prize.
Life was good for Johannes. Good every single day since birth. Her grandparents had succeeded in giving Johannes a good life, a life filled with joy and love. When they passed, she inherited all the lessons they taught her and their businesses too. She could've been content and comfortable with it all, but something gnawed at her. A thought. A series of thoughts. An idea. One she could not help but think, no matter how hard she tried. “Why did they abandon me? What was so special about being a pirate? Was life at sea worth leaving your daughter behind?” In the quiet moments of her life, these questions about her parents were all she could hear.
