Clothing and Accessories: His attire is quite trim, befitting his collective and proper personality. It is made up of a simple pair of dark dress pants and a white collared dress shirt, completely buttoned up with a blue tie hanging from the neck. He dons a trench coat with a white border on top. The color of its interior as well as its exterior matches that of his tie. Dark markings are diagonally spread from the left shoulder and sleeve and run down the front and the back of the coat. The coat has a high collar which is left unfolded. The cuffs are also quite large. As the coat cannot be closed down the front, he fastens it with a long belt, looping it twice around his waist and then holding it fast with a buckle. This leaves the upper front of his shirt exposed, allowing the tie to be tucked neatly into the coat. The belt itself has a pattern of diamonds running across it. His attire is completed by a pair of dark boots with contrasting light soles.
Description: Zeref is a man of average height. Most of his long, blue hair is bunched up into a ponytail by a golden brace. The ponytail hangs past his right shoulder, reaching up to his chest. The rest of his hair is quite messy, with uneven bangs falling down the sides of his face and between his eyes. He has alert eyes with blue irises. He has an average body size with a basic physical athletic build, noting that he is not too bulky with muscles but instead a compact and slender build.

Non-Combat: Zeref is a very strict man who values order and respect. Due to this military nature, while he is careful not to overstep his own bounds, he clearly voices his opinion in cases where the actions of any of his associates are deemed to be out of keeping with their position as a Marine. He is also a highly capable leader of marines. Quite close to his work as a marine, he reveres his position greatly, chastising even his colleagues if he perceives their actions towards the law to be disrespectful or unjust. Zeref also enjoys studying the various laws of the sea, including documenting his journey across the ocean waves. He can often be found in his quarters doing just that, writing and reading to further his personal intellect.
Combat: During combat Zeref is very calm and uses his mind as a great weapon, he isn't much of a conversationalist to most enemies. An exception however is when he feels compelled to lecture the enemy on rights and wrongs, usually only occurring when victory is assured. He sees his combat as a way of bringing about justice, law and order.

Life in Snow-Hawk: Zeref was born on a frozen island known as Snow-Hawk in the West Blue, the only child of Zabuza and Songo Yuki. Growing up the son of Snow-Hawk's mayor, Zeref had a respected and almost noble stature in his childhood life. Living with in a rather mansion sized estate, Zeref had access to a higher class of education and teachings. Choosing to learn the art of "Navigation" from a retired Marine known as Kino Sarutobi, who had published maps of his great adventures in the Grand Line and the other Blues. This was the majority of his studies until reaching the ripe young age of 13, to which he was allowed by his father Zabuza to begin studying as a "Swordsmen" under a talented warrior Master Higurashi of the North Blue. Spending his mornings studying navigation and evening learning to become a masterful swordsmen, he trained vigorously night and day and even began developing the intellectual and proper man he is today. The villagers seemed in awe to see the Yuki family walk the streets as though they were of some form of royalty, but that all changed when the Marines came and established their base.
Enter the Marines: When the Marines came to Snow-Hawk, Zeref had just barely reached the age of 15 and had become rather proficient with a sword and how he carried himself as a man. At first the Marines came with gifts for the village and then began to establish order to the island which increased their economy though most felt they were too pushy and forceful, including Zabuza. Though unlike the masses Zeref saw the beauty in this new order knowing though they were made to work harder, the island was becoming a stronger place. This scene of order sparking a flame in Zeref's heart, he went as far as joining the Marines, becoming a lowly sailor at start.
Current: After spending the last 6 years in the headquarters, Zeref was approached by the commanding officers with a task. Due to his well known love of order and correction, he was given the task of sailing the sea and helping to enforce the laws of the government and helping to bring his order to the world. Gifting him with the title of captain and allowing him to collect his own crew in order to carry out his task.
