Rena is carrying hunting tools to set traps, make fishing rods, fire, shelter etc. This kit also includes a small axe and knives. She also carries a medkit from the doctor of her village. A bow and arrow to hunt animals. Then their is also provisions for 2 weeks of food and some water bottles. She also carries 2 blades. One does she call the gold tracer and the other oen the silver tracer. The silver tracer is for creatures weak to silver and the gold tracer for everything else.

Rena's personality is usually calm and collected. This is often the case when she is with people she does not know so well. Despite that, she can put up a personality performance if there is a need for it. If she needs to seduce or charm someone to get what she needs she will use that to her advantage. When she is around people she knows she is much more energetic. Rena feels more comfortable to laugh and enjoy the warmth of these moments. She takes her profession really serious. When she is working, she is focused and will do all she possibly can to finish the job.
Rena is not someone that enjoys being around a huge crowd of people all the time. When traveling she prefers to travel alone or in a small group. Rena's story takes us back 21 years on the 21st of July when Rena was born. The town doctor and his assistant helped out her mother Mary Seimei. Her father was waiting outside. The man was filled with stress and adrenaline. He ice bearded around at the front door waiting for the doctor to bring him the news. Not much later their was loud crying. A few seconds later the doctor opened the door. The doctor congratulated Mikumi Seimei with a healthy girl. Mikumi followed the doctor inside and sat down at his wives bed. Who was holding their daughter in her arms. The two parents would smile at each other. The assistant could not hold his curiosity for himself. He asked the parents what name they would give their baby. Mary answered that the name of her daughter would be Rena Capku Ryuugu Seimei.
The years flew by without any issues. Rena lived through a somewhat normal youth. SHe went to school and played with her friends at the playground. The only odd thing was that her parents were away a lot due to their job. They never told Rena what their job was and Rena never asked after they told her to stop asking them. That is why Rena would often sleep over at a friend or with the doctor who was a trusted man in their community.
Before she went to bed the doctor would tell her stories of heroes and heroines. He would tell her volklore and rumored stories of famous pirates and other famous figures. Out of all these stories her favorite stories were about Rena Hitomiy. A swordswoman with a giant blade called The Claymore. With her trusted blade Rena Hitomiy faced all kinds of adventures and monsters. No matter where the woman went the blade was always there for her as her trusted ally. No enemy was to strong. No mountain too high. Nothing could stop this legendary woman. This woman became Rena’s personal hero. At night she would dream of being at Rena Hitomiy’s side with her own Claymore fighting evil together.
With the obsession about the legendary Claymore came the obsession with swords. SHe started making and collecting wooden swords. Something about their shape. Something about the way they look. It was mysterious, powerful, beautiful, relaxing and so much more. Looking at a sword or swinging it around made her feel something. Something she can not describe but it felt good.
As she grew and got older Rena went to the swordmaster and the blacksmith of the village. The swordmaster teaches her how to wield the sword. For years Rena is his disciple. Her enthusiasm allowed her to go above and beyond to and increase her skills at a fast phase. She also worked for the blacksmith as a side job to earn money to pay her lessons and because she wanted to learn more about swords. How they were made. Sometimes the blacksmith would tell Rena to just sit down and watch him work on a new sword design he came up with. Rena would watch him for hours hammering, melting, cooling, grinding and engraving blades. It was so magical. To her the blacksmith was some kind of wizard.
When Rena turned 14 her parents finally opened up to her about their job. This is when Rena learned that monsters were real. That her parents were hunters that were hired by other villages, towns and islands to hunt for monsters. This reality of monsters being real sparked a new passion. Sure she knew how to hunt animals. That is something her parents thought her since she could walk. Monsters were something else. It opened up so many doors of opportunities for her. The next 7 years her parents would teach her everything about hunting monsters. They even took her with them on several jobs.
Her life became really busy. She still had to do her work at the blacksmith and wanted to keep learning more from her sensei about sword fighting. While in the meantime, she had to keep up her basic knowledge of plants animals and hunting in general while also absorbing how to hunt monsters. The only thing that kept her going was her drive and passion for all these things together.
After she learned about monsters being real Rena started thinking that the stories the doctor told her before bedtime about Rena Hitomiy might be true. That meant that it was possible that The Claymore was real too! Whenever she was on a job with her parents Rena would ask around if people could give her intel about the location of the blade. Some people didn't know it or didn't believe in the blade. Others would share what they knew and were just like her believers.
Several months after she turned 21 Rena gets a message that her parents went missing during a hunt. It did not say what they were hunting. Rena felt horrible about this news. If she just had gone with them! Rena packed her bags. She explained to the other villagers that she was leaving to find her parents. The villagers understood. The blacksmith, doctor and her sensei had a hard time letting her go. The old doctor’s beard was wet of the tears. Even the swordmaster and the blacksmith could not hold their tears. They have watched over her since she was just a little girl. The blacksmith told her he still remembers the little Rena asking for a job to pay for her sword lessons. How she would carry the heavy equipment around and watched him work for hours. Her sensei told her that he remembers the little young Rena begging at his doorstep in the pouring rain to each her how to fight. How much passion she had and how much she has grown as a person and as a sword fighter.
As a farewell gift her sensei would give her one of his best blades. The gold tracer.
The blacksmith also had a gift. He gave her the Silver tracer. The doctor gave her a med kit with all kinds of medicine and tools to heal her wounds. Then Rena left on her own wearing the gear her parents gave her for hunting including the black hunting clothes. There are rumors that the sword really exists. She somehow has a really strong feeling that the sword really exists and set out to find it. During her travels she wants to collect other swords and do her job as a hunter. She sets out on a journey to find her family and slay the monster that took them from her.
