Current Quest:

Miniboss Preview:

OOC: (-eh is a cough; -ee is a weeze)

Brood found himself leaning over the starboard, arms resting against the railing as he peered towards Notice. His entire body seemed to be on a state of high alert due to the fact that he wanted nothing more than to finally make his mark on the North Blue. In a manner that was far more permanent than word of mouth. It would be nice to have a place to collect money from while he continued his exploits in the Grand Line. He remembered how Castor admitted to him that the lightning lad had yet to enter the next phase of the sea himself, which did bring a small smile to Brood's face... if he were the kind of man to smile at all that is. Unfortunately, he wasn't. Not even in the slightest. So to that end he kept himself rather stoic about it all.

He wanted to make sure that his crew was prepared for the destruction of this island, however. He didn't want to completely demolish it, he needed to keep most of the industries in tact, though he had to damage the island enough so that they realized the world government was not their savior. Brood would be, the Primetime Pirates... would be. It was a simple plan, one that could go off without a hitch so long as those who had joined his crew proved themselves worthy to remain aboard his vessel. He knew that there happened to be quite a few heavy hitters that were aboard his crew. But it was likely going to be a bloodbath if and when the crew actually landed. This would also serve as the first showcase of his crew's... abilities.

Leaning up and turning towards those who made up his candy-coated horde, Brood allowed his voice to flourish with authority. Hefting his massive axe onto his shoulder while looking around at each of the pirates that had the potential to become commanders aboard his vessel. He decided to withhold his wheezing and coughing, causing streams of sugary liquid to form at the sides of his lips and stroll down the side of his face. His eyes were focused as they bounced between the four members of his crew that were worthy of note. Though he didn't look at Desmond, the Reiters, Jackson or Erudite. "As your Captain, I make it a point to never give you orders unless they are absolutely necessary. Today will play out much of the same."

"I will only step in to help if you guys absolutely need it. As you can see up ahead, there seems to be a lot more ships on the water than necessary. That implies to me that someone has reported our arrival to the powers that be." Brood hoisted his axe up so that it rested across his collar bone, that way he could loop his hands underneath the wooden handle and hold it in a manner that let him lounge.  "Whatever the case, I want to see what you guys can do. The Dead Air will deal with their primary flag ship. You all need to spread out and deal with each of the individual captains aboard each of the vessels. Be careful."  He made his orders known, but they had yet to make it to the blockade just yet.

Cygnus opened his eyes and slowly sat up. Surprisingly he was able to fall asleep on board the deck of the Dead Air without bothering the many people in his new family, The suspense and excitement he felt in the air could only mean that the crew was getting close to their next destination, Notice. Cygnus did not know much of the island, save for the fact that his captain wanted to take control of it. At the end of the day the large canine did not really care about any motives or reasons behind the take over of this island, If his captain wanted the island Cygnus would do all he could to help his crew achieve that goal. After all, as long as the Mink gets to have fun and acquire treasure he had no real reason to be upset or ask questions.

As Cygnus looked around more closely he could see that some of the men around him began to look towards his captain, it was the start of Broods speech that finally gave Cygnus the motivation to fully stand all the way up and begin his preparations for the battle that would commence soon. As his captain gave out orders to the crew the golden dog began to formulate a plan in his head on the best course of action for him to take. At the end of the speech Cygnus had settled on a ship to the left of the fleet's main flag ship. He wanted to be close enough to where his abilities would be seen but also was not so stupid to not go against his captains orders.

After doing some stretches and sharpening his swords Cygnus would spend the rest of the time before the raid checking for any possible damages on the Dead Air. The dog took his newfound job as the ship's shipwright very seriously despite his usual carefree attitude. After his first boat was destroyed in the waters of the New World the large Mink had spent countless hours learning the ins and outs of ship building and maintenance. While Cygnus had zero worries that any major damage would be inflicted on his new home the retriever was also confident in his ability to repair every part on the ship.

Everything so far has been going well for Junichi. He had successfully infiltrated a pirate group without blowing his revolutionary status. Though honestly, he hated lying to his new crewmates. It left a pit in his stomach of guilt. No one ever said being a revolutionary was going to be easy. especially since Firebeard made minks enemies of the world government. His fist tightened as he sat in his room in the Dead Air. It was truly a magnificent ship, it had put his own ship The DawnBringer to shame in fact. Though that could change with enough money. For now, his ship sailed behind the Dead Air doing its best to match her course and speed. He was roused from his bed by one of the crewmates saying that the captain wanted all hands on deck. Had something happened? were they under attack? Or perhaps there was some good news to be told? He quickly grabbed his staff and attached it to his back sheath.

He quickly changed into his Tiger stripped gi with white fur edging that he had gotten collected from his own shed fur. His curiosity honestly had gotten the better of him and he wanted to make a good impression by showing up on time. Once the captain called he would drop everything that was his duty as a pirate. He moved as quickly as possible and scrambled to the main deck running on all fours like a monkey. Once there and he caught sight of the captain he would stand erect to his massive towering height of twelve feet. He watched as he examined the captain's demeanor his body movements. he hadn't caught sight of the captain in such a mood before something big must be going down. He listened closely to the captain's voice brimming with authority as he addressed his men. His knuckles tensed with anticipation as he listened to the speech he gave towards everyone. It was nice short sweet to the point. 'Which would leave plenty of time for drinking afterward' as he thought that to himself.

Then he noticed as the crews began to scatter about something he had not expected. A fellow mink was aboard the ship. This pleased him greatly at least he was not the only one of his kind on the ship and the other mink he assumed would understand the minks social customs. He quickly moved over towards the dog mink and smiled and nuzzled his left cheek and said> Brother mink Garchuu!" He smiled and pulled away as he looked about as the men began to take their various positions. " Good luck on the battlefield and show these lesser minks the true capabilities of our people!"  He smiled and made his way past his captain and nodded his head respectively. "I'll take the starboard side captain with my ship best of luck to you." With that, he made his way towards the starboard side and backed up to it and gave his captain a two-fingered salute and proceeded to stick his tongue out and laugh with his signature "uki ki ki!" and leaned back letting gravity do the rest for him.

He closed his nostril and his mouth taking in a deep breath just as he hit the surface of the water. Which was surprisingly quite warm. His fur felt heavier now as it was soaked as he moved his arms before him doing the breaststroke under the water. His eyes remaining open as he watched schools of fish move about the area. He swam to the surface and would get his bearings. This was the time for him to show his captain what he could do. He had quite decent strength but his biggest asset was his defensive capabilities. he had trained for many years to get this body into prime physical condition. After all, he had to travel through the new world to get to the blues. He paddled his way towards his faithful ship at his full speed and would grab on the side of the ship some of the nettings and climb up. He grinned as he climbed and reached the side and pulled himself over and shook himself off of the seawater. He quickly ran up the stairs to the second floor of his ship heading for the helm. He narrowed his eyes as he looked out onto the horizon and spoke to the helmsmen and his grunts aboard the ship.

"Prepare for combat all hands on deck! Make a heading the nearest enemy ship on the starboard side of the Dead air and fire the front cannon lets tenderize these Marines!" With that, he would move toward the left of the helm and ring the bell a few times as he watched his men scramble about the ship bringing in gunpowder and cannonballs shouting to his men once more a final order "Ramming speed and don't stop firing till we ram them no quarter NO MERCY open fire!'' With that once the ship had made its course correction aiming straight towards the nearest marine vessel the loud boom of his front cannon exploding as it sent its first shot soaring through the air aiming for the ship before them.

[They'll never hear her coming]

‘That’s seventy four crates of dried food, sixty seven barrels of clean water, forty two barrels of assorted alcohol, and-’ This thought process was abruptly interrupted when Layla heard the call that they were approaching land, or more specifically Notice. The thief put down her pen and decided she’d finish triple checking their inventory later. The woman secured the stack of papers, which represented the detailed inventory of the Primetime pirates supplies, in a small alcove with a lock on it. Of course the woman didn’t need the key as she simply phased her hand through the cover and left the papers snugly inside. Being Quartermaster was an essential and stressful job for a crew that was so chaotic and undisciplined at times. It felt like the Primetime pirates burned through supplies at an insane rate, especially the booze and any sweets we had on board.

The woman was shaking her head to herself at the logistical nightmare that was this crew but was shocked to feel a smirk tugging at her lips fondly. Layla quickly got rid of it as she made her way to the deck. The woman passed a couple of the other members of the Primetime in various states of preparation, unlike herself who was always prepared. This meant that the silent woman was easily one of the earliest to arrive onto deck as the others began to finally meander up.

The woman silently stood a fair distance away from her captain who was staring intently at their objective, Notice. The thief had listened around the Dead Air and knew that the island was directly under control of the World Government, making it an extremely dangerous target. Her captain was already an extremely wanted man, this would only paint a larger target on not only him but the rest of them as well. Naturally it made the Phantasm nervous, she actively avoided seeking attention of any kind. It was counterintuitive to a thief such as herself, though the brand on the front of her left shoulder reminded her that she wasn’t just a thief anymore.

Layla was about done with her ruminations when she noticed the last of the stragglers finally catch up. The sight of Brood swinging his massive axe over his shoulder like it was second nature to him was a reminder of the immense difference in strength between them. The woman’s eyes slid to those standing beside her now, taking in their forms and equipment, easily recognizing she was the runt here. It only meant she’d have to work harder to prove herself a benefit to the crew. She climbed her way up in Gold Dust and she’d do it again in the Primetime pirates.

The speech given by Brood drew a smirk from the normally expressionless woman, it was short and to the point. Brevity was something she appreciated, those who made it a point to speak just to be heard were infinitely annoying. The fact that their approach was reported was no surprise, the Dead Air wasn’t exactly subtle. As for his final statement, it simply reaffirmed to Layla that this was another test for her to prove herself. Just like the brand, just like her role as Quartermaster, just like all her jobs before.

The woman simply crossed her arms resolutely in a show of determination to meet the challenge, in her own way of course. The Phantasm was no frontliner unlike her fellow crewmates, she’d leave the center stage for them. Layla would stick to the rafters of the Primetime show and pull some strings to make the main acts shine even brighter. The woman shook her head at herself and smirked again. ‘There I go using the damn circus show metaphor again.’

As the crew broke apart to begin their respective jobs Layla stayed behind, she had made sure all of their supplies were properly secured hours ago in preparation. Guard rotations were set, inventory had been double checked, a list had been produced, copied, and handed out to several of the Primetime grunts to secure during their raid. Grocery shopping for such a large crew was something that fell under her purview and she’d be damned if the grunts of the crew weren’t going to help her feed themselves. What they did with the food wasn’t her problem, just procuring it was.

The monkey man, Junichi, decided to make a show of his departure and even gave a very monkey-like laugh as he dove into the blue waters below. Something she was secretly jealous of, it had been a dream of hers to swim in any body of water that wasn’t a small stream in Alabasta. At least he wasn’t around to annoy her at the moment now that he was presumably on his own ship to perform whatever duties he had.

It seemed she would be on standby until the opportunity to board an enemy ship or touch down on Notice presented itself. There was nothing wrong with patience, biding one’s time, simply observing the approaching storm. So there Layla stood, leaning against the railing, waiting for the show to kick off with her hands in her duster's pockets prepared to get dirty once again.

Here to light it up, Set the world on fire.
Things were certainly starting to come together since they left Kano Country. The signs of depression he showed when she first found him were no longer manifesting. This was a fact that made the doctor happy but she did her best to not outwardly show this. With the arrival of new members to the crew, they couldn't see her softer side just yet. They hadn't received that honor just yet. She had her own acceptions to this and that was the younger Rieters especially the youngest. Despite the fact that they were more teenagers than they were children but one could always make acceptions. No, instead, the new recruits would see the confident side of her first. They still had to prove their loyalty to the crew and herself first.

The femme fatale turned her attention and thoughts that they were fast approaching. With her sharp sniper eyes, she could see that ships were beginning to gather at the coast. It would seem that someone had alerted them to their approach. It was likely that they had someone observing the seas so they could quickly call out when pirates were advancing. They were nothing like a pirate crew despite the fact that their leader had a bounty on his head. Sure, they caused a bit of destruction and terror wherever they went but it was in the name of being mercenaries.

Seraphina didn't move to join the others as they gathered near Brood. Instead, she turned around from where she had been standing and leaned her back against the railing of the ship. She watched the captain as she spoke to them about the upcoming battle. She knew that it would only be one in the many they would face on this island. However, she was more than willing to conquer this island in the name of the Primetime Pirates and the tall man that stood before them. He more than deserved to finally get his chance at the things that he wanted and if taking control of this island was what he wanted then she would do so.

With the end of his words, the redhead watched as the monkey mink made a gaudy departure to his own ship to head into battle. The other two were quieter in their retreat from the speech and went about doing their own things. Once they had left her eyesight, she didn't really pay them any mind. Her preparations had already been made and the things she would need were on stand-by with the Rieter boys. They would accompany her while she completed her task of eliminating the enemy. She was a sniper after all and her job was best well done at a distance. They would be leaving Tatiana behind but the elder sister knew not to worry about her brothers but to protect the Dead Air at all costs.

"Lukas, Felix. My weapons."  Seraphina wouldn't look for them as she spoke out her order in a calm tone. She knew they would hear her and come to her side, which was proven true as she felt the rifle hit her hands. The boys would stand by her side with one of them still holding Needler while she attached the scope to Sharpshooter. As she did this, she eyed the faces of both boys and smirked graced her lips. One was clearly itching for a fight, which was made obvious by the way he couldn't stand still, while the other one looked out towards the blockade with an almost nervous look on his face. They were almost polar opposites but that made them good foils for each other especially when it came to a fight.

Once her scope was attached, the woman took a sniper's position by dropping to the deck of the ship. If she was taking a shot closer then she would have just depended on her own strong stance to steady herself. However, she was taking a long shot and needed the added support to shoot straight. That might be asking for a lot on a ship that rocked back and forth but she had plenty of practice. She would begin her battle for the most part by taking potshots at the deck of the ship she had set her eyes on. It would be a different story once the vessel was close enough for her and the boys to board.

OOC:(-eh is a cough; -ee is a weeze)

Brood took only a brief moment to peer towards Seraphina. His face didn't change, but he spoke to her through non-verbal communication that was trained up to such a high level due to the closeness he held to her. Good luck, Phi... Despite the situation at hand, he was not wishing her luck because of this opening act, but this was the first time in which he was going to have her acting as his official first mate.

He wanted her to not get overwhelmed and in Brood's absence she was the one that everyone was going to look towards for guidance. To that end, all he wanted was for the woman to feel the sheer weight placed on her shoulders. The crew was her burden to bare. At any rate, he thought of the rest of his crew after taking his eyes off his woman. Something that he wouldn't have done normally.

Oh yeah, that mute bitch won't be able to do anything because she is literally weaker than our attack dogs. Better fix that. Brood narrowed his eyes in anguish as he looked upon his supposed crew members, supposed due to the fact that if they failed this test then they would be asked to leave. Perhaps he could find someone that fit his crew better should they prove to be more nuisance than ally.

The time to worry about such details had long since passed, however. He swallowed the pain of witnessing the homoerotic display by his two furry mink friends. He had come up with the best plan for everyone to showcase their strengths perfectly. "Grumble Drop." That was all he needed to say in order to cause his beloved crewmates to whip themselves up into a frenzy.

The crew seemed to run around frantically as they aimed the canons, with Brood walking over towards the young Leyla and extending his arm towards her. If she took it, he'd grab her and quickly toss her across the sea, so that she'd land on one of the several ships out in the distance.  Meanwhile, the rest of his lieutenants found themselves ready to carry out his simple order.

Desmond, Erudite and Jack each began to stroll towards the railings, leaping off the edge of the vessel right as each of the cannons fired their artillery. All three going in their own separate directions and all three of them arriving in their own unique way, showcasing their distinctive personalities whole they fly over the vast blue ocean and towards their enemies. It didn't matter if the enemy ships where making evasive maneuvers, their clock was running out.

Erudite Graves, The Hangwoman, overlooked the ocean beneath her with utter indifference. As she rode across the ocean itself she held out both of her hands as though she was stretching them out for a hug. She thought of the water below and felt the heartbeat of the ocean thump to life at her behest. She'd raise her hands upwards, causing the water to rise up like two pillars as she neared her destination.

"Typical nonsense." She spoke in her usual condescending manner. Raising both hands high over her head and clapping her palms together, the two spiraling pillars rose upwards and collided against one another.

She'd then swing her hands forward, launching the massive whip of water towards the vessel that she approached, causing the water to explode upon the hull, washing away several grunts and tossing them off from port to starboard.

Peering towards her foes, she found herself amused by the forces that scrambled to sail out here and conflict against her crew. By the time she landed, leaping off the cannonball as it slammed into the waters nearby, she already had her trust whip in hand.

She'd look around at the forces that assembled before her... and she was... surprised. If what Brood said earlier was to be believed, these were supposed to be local forces that caught wind of the Primetime Pirates' arrival. However she could clearly see that there were Marines here... was this island controlled by the World Government? And if so, why the hell did her Captain not inform her ahead of time.

Gritting her teeth, she could do little to ward off the smile that crept up on her face. "Ladies and Gentlemen, you're just in time to watch the spectacle. Front row seats to the end of your lives."

The rapturous laughter that seemed to fill the sky belonged to none other than Big Dirty Desmond Wilkz. His rambunctious nature was symbolized wonderfully the moment his visage was showcased coming over that horizon.

He didn't even bother to stand on the mortar, choosing instead to squat upon it as though he was some sort of yakuza. He salivated at the mouth, eyes growing veins in them as he felt his need for being the dominant chad in the room grow within his very being. He knew that he'd gain everything that he wanted so long as he killed the most enemies and won his fight.

A task that was likely easier for himself than it would be for most of his comrades. Especially due to the fact that he wasn't hindered by any sense of morality. "Whomever is head of this vessel, show yourself. Or don't, won't matter when you're dead."

Landing on all fours, he showcased his fangs towards the closest men to him and began to charge mercilessly at the largest of them, stretching out his arm, a great deal of wind pressure formed around his arm before he swing forward with all his might, clotheslining the air and sending forth a massive gust of wind that would crash into the larger individual and send him flying into a crowd of subordinates.

Desmond would holler, like a beast let off its leash, beating on his chest as his entire livelihood became apparent. "Ah shit, no ladies on this vessel?! What kind of bullshit is that?? Huuuh?? Oh well, guess you guys will have to suffice to satisfy me now. " He was feeling it deep inside of himself. The feeling of hellacious ecstasy.

He knew that he could cut loose and go wild here and now. Destroying any and everyone that got in his way.

Jackson Makarov, the so called 'Representative of Death', found himself praying in complete silence in the same manner as highly-spiritual monks. He was one in a way, especially given the fact that he saw himself as being enlightened to the whims of death.

A shepherd to a flock that needed to be guided into the infinite black, into the eternal frost. The though would bring a smile to his face if he were someone suffering from some sort of mental disorder. But he took no pleasure in his role, nor was he opposed to it. He was merely a tool, carrying out his task with ruthless efficiency.

His methodology wasn't elegant but the results where memorable. He was calm, like a cold and calculated serial killer. He could see that most if not all of the opposition here had finally ran out of time. "....."

His focus was intense, he knew that the lost souls that had gathered here before him were about to be given an amazing gift. Deliverance from existence. If he could showcase excitement he would, alas that was not his own fate. Instead, he crossed his arms and reached for the dynamite that was holstered on his sides.

His unique method of bringing forth the end of life was to utilize a unique chemical that ignited the dynamite whenever the rip cord was taken out of the sticks. That way, he could use the dynamite like a makeshift flail and have it explode at his own behest.

Such a method gave a bit of skill to his maneuvers, but for the most part he was capable of defending himself properly at all ranges due to the unique construction of his munitions. It was this ability that allowed him to leap off the device, swing the dynamite, use it like a rope and swing onto the ship.

He said nothing, but his eyes spoke louder than his words ever could. It was as clear as crystal now more than ever, their time had come. ".....Come."

While Cygnus was nearing the end of his preparations he was very surprised when Junichi approached him. Although it was slightly embarrassing to be greeted in the traditional way of his people in front of others who might not understand what was going on the words of encouragement from his fellow Mink seemed to hype the dog up even more for the battle that would shortly commence.

Once Cygnus heard the other main headliners on the crew jump ship the mink decided that it was about time that he had left as well. With his large body stomping to the edge of the ship the retriever took in a large breath of air before jumping as far as he could without gaining a running start beforehand. As he plummeted into the water a decent size wave was left where he collided with the ocean. As he sank into the water it would take him a while to find his senses but he began to swipe at the water anyways, propelling himself towards the boat he had set his eyes on earlier.

By the time he had made it to the side of the boat Cygnus could already hear the screams and cries as the others battled their opponents even through the water. The golden dog swam up and immediately felt his fur become heavier after leaving the ocean. Nevertheless the Mink lifted his hands up and dug his claws into the side of the ship before taking a second to make sure his swords were still attached to his belt. “Alright it's time to do my job” is what Cygnus told himself as he leapt up and landed ungracefully onto the ship. Despite his effort to remain nonchalant and calm about the conflict he had thrown himself into the dog could not be more excited to actually fight for something other than himself. The loud thud of Cygnus’s large body hitting the deck of the Navy ship let every Marine on board that he had arrived before he had said anything.

“PIRATE” A slightly older looking marine yelled as he raised his hand and pointed a finger at Cygnus. The man had a long white coat on his back and seemed to command some authority on board the vessel. Unfortunately the soldiers seemed to be so surprised from the minks sudden appearance that the first wave of bullets completely flew by him. After the shooting had temporarily stopped Cygnus still remained motionless, waiting for the apparent captain of the ship to make a move. Within the blink of an eye the older naval officer was out of Cygnus’s eyesight. Now on edge Cygnus took out one of his blades and ran at the soldiers who had previously fired at him.

Cygnus began cutting the large group of marines with relative ease, Despite not being nowhere near the strongest warrior from Zou standard marine soldiers would be unable to take Cygnus down while he was focused. In the small, couple second breaks between each attack he dished out he tried to figure out where the officer had gone but even with Cygnus’s heightened senses and awareness he was unable to exactly pinpoint his location on the ship. But as the Mink got a closer look at the ship he began to see why he was having trouble. Scattered across the deck of the ship were pieces of cloth cut from a marine officer's coat. When Cygnus realized why he could not smell where the man was he felt an arrow just barely miss him and strike into the wooden floor below him. His eyes squinted as he looked up to where the attack had come from. Near the top of the mast was the same man from before, albeit he was now holding a large bow and had lost most of his coat.

Directly after being spotted the man reached behind his back and pulled out another arrow and prepared to fire at the large canine who was currently charging at him, both swords drawn.

It felt so good to him to finally display his minkship with another. It had felt like years since he had done it. He knew trying that out in the human world would obviously get him strange looks and some would consider it a homoerotic show of affection especially if used on the same sex. But It brought a sense of joy that put him at peace. His eyes stared out at the horizon as the ship sailed through. The sound of the sea rushed in his ears as he mentally prepared himself for the combat to come. His heart was beating excitedly. If there was one thing he loved to do it was get in a good scarp with a worthy opponent. Too bad, it was daytime and not an evening or a full moon. That's when he could really show them the power of the mink tribe.  His tail flicked back and forth excitedly water getting sprayed fro it. He was going to get all puffy when his fur dried off. He would need good long brushing afterward a small price to pay.

The ships rocked against the waves as the sound of a volley of cannonball fire rained down about his ship. His helmsmen keeping the ship steady as the cannonballs missed them barely. "Keep her steady men and belay that firing the canon order I want to fight these bastards hand to hand!" He crossed his arms as he glared at the ships before him. "Now then which shall it be? Whos it gonna be?'' he mumbled to himself as he stared out at the navy ships. He smiled wide baring his elongated canine teeth as he made up his mind on his target. It was the centermost ship in their current course. "Aim for that center ship ahead!" His helmsmen looked at him and nodded knowing not to argue with him once the mink made up his mind on a target. Junichi cracked his neck to the side the cartilage popping as he let out a loud sigh of relief.

He would head down the stairs from the second floor walking as if he didn't have a care in the world. Hell, he was evening humming Binks sake as he placed his hands behind his back. The sounds of fighting began to fill the air. The clash of steel the scent of blood being spray mingled with the salt air. It was almost intoxicating to him. His right-hand instinctively flexing into a fist as he thought to himself 'hurry, hurry, I want a crack at these dogs of the world government.' To him fighting was nearly everything it was one of the reasons why he joined the revolutionary army though he had other more personal reasons. The world government would pay...no even higher authority was going to pay for what they did to him. He would not rest easy until he had ripped the beating heart out of the celestial dragon that had murdered his father.

HIs ship shook as his mind was brought back the sound of cannon fire brought his mind back to the current situation at hand. With a smile mighty roar, he quickly grabbed onto the side of his ship and yelled out "RAM THE BASTARDS!" His men cheered out as they themselves also braced for impact as the DawnBringer crashed into the lead ship. The impact shaking him and most of his men as most fell on their rear end.  For others, it merely shook them slightly. Junichi reached behind his back and pulled off his staff and with an impressive display, he twirled his weapon expertly in one hand as he had the end of his staff pressed against the base of his spine at an angle. The mixture of gold and bronze with the engraving of a head of an elephant upon it.tipped edges of his staff. The likeness of the guardian Zunisha was painstakingly carved into it.

He glared out onto the enemy ship and ran up along the ship's pointed figurehead before he knew what he was doing running excited headfirst into battle onto the enemy ship. He let out a mighty screech as elector coursed about his body creating a coating of electricity about him. His nervous system being pumped full of electrical impulses greatly increasing his reflex and speed. He glared as his men came in shortly afterward charging at the grunts aboard the ship. The sounds of blades clashing against one another as he looked at a relatively young lesser ink with a navy coat. He charged through the chaos aboard the deck of the enemy ship weaving through the grunts like he was a being made of paper bending and swirling to the sides gracefully.

He stared down at the man in the officer's coat as he slammed the end of his staff onto the wood plank of the ship. One warrior staring down another. This was no mere grunt he had an air about him of a combatant.  "Let's see how good you are lap dog!" He cran more electro throughout his hand channeling it into his staff. He needed to get as much advantage as he could let's see how well he would react. One of his best techniques for slowing down an enemy he had worked painstakingly hard on for years. He moved at his full speed as he would jump up into the air trying to crash down his staff down upon the captain of the ship. His ten-foot-long bo staff would give him a reach advantage hopefully he needed to end this as quickly as possible. He needed to prove himself to Captain brood and show him what he was capable of and earn the man's trust.

[They'll never hear her coming]

Layla was passively observing the blockade before them, it was strange that it was set up so quickly now that she got a much closer look at how dense it was. ‘Was it normal for islands to have such a standing force?’ The thief had no clue but was at a loss for how she was going to be of any use. Those around her had methods of travel due to their own strength or whatever strange abilities they possessed. Or they could simply swim. At the thought the woman’s eyelids drooped slightly lower as she internally whined about that.

As soon as Layla heard the words drop from Broods lips like an anchor the already frantic Primetime pirates exploded into a chaotic frenzy around her. She honestly found it annoying but it was something she’d been forcing herself to grow used to. These thoughts were interrupted when her captain lumbered over her and offered her his hand. The woman was confused and it was plain on her face but if her captain was demanding her hand then so be it.

Without hesitation Layla placed her hand in Broods only for her eyes to widen in surprise when his fingers curled around hers and she was suddenly in the air. The woman was upside down in the air when it finally processed that Brood had just tossed her at their enemy over the sea which she would most definitely die in if she didn’t somehow land on a ship.

The woman quickly used her arms and legs to force herself right side up only to feel gravity taking hold of her once again as the ocean below began to grow closer. However in mere seconds the scene below her was replaced with decks full of Notice’s defenders before they disappeared only to be replaced by other decks of similarly dressed individuals. Layla quickly assessed that she would land probably in the space between ships if she did nothing to assist in her descent. The woman quickly grabbed the tail of her own duster and instantly felt the drag in the air as it got caught inside of her duster, a sort of makeshift sail that instantly caused her to lose momentum at a rapid pace.

With luck it seemed Layla had managed to change her trajectory for a smaller and more plain looking boat behind the front of the barricade of ships. However this particular ship had significantly fewer bodies on it’s deck and none of them seemed to be watching the air, all occupied with some other tasks she couldn’t make out. Sadly it seemed she wouldn't be making a proper landing as she could see herself heading toward the bow of the ship, she prepared to make the area impacted intangible so she could at least enter the ship safely and stay out of the sea.

Right as Layla touched the bow of the ship she seamlessly passed through the wood and into the interior of the ship. However she didn’t get much further as she quickly impacted into something at full speed that she couldn’t pass through. The woman and the object she crashed into tumbled until they hit a wall and a loud crack sounded through the air at their impact. The woman took a moment to quickly assess herself fearing the crack had originated from her. As seconds passed and no sudden flares of pain wracked her body she realized she was completely fine. Layla detangled herself from whatever she had impacted against but realized that it was a body she was laying upon. The man beneath her had his neck bent at an extremely unnatural level and had a look of shock frozen on his face.

The man had the kanji for Justice on his back and Layla realized that it meant she’d landed on and killed a commissioned officer of some kind. ‘This counts. Technically.’ The woman thought to herself with a satisfied smirk knowing it’d be good enough to secure her given task as a success. That is until she finally realized she wasn’t completely alone in this room. The dark haired woman slowly turned to see rows upon rows of Den Den Mushi all ringing and barking at one another along with a single man standing over a knocked over stool and pointing at her while looking at the dead man at her feet.

‘Was this your friend?’ Layla silently asked as she looked from the shaking man to the corpse at her feet and back up to him. She then offered a small shrug as if to apologize before whipping out her Claw and dashing at him. This finally caused the man to snap out of his daze and draw his own weapon, a short sabre of some kind. However, Layla had the drop on him easily enough and managed to score a few early hits on the man before simply phasing through his pathetic retaliatory strikes.

“Wha- Wha- What?!” The man whimpered in fear as his eyes widened at the fact his sword was going through Layla as if she was an apparition of some kind. “He-HELP ME DOWN HERE!!!!” The man called out loudly and Layla frowned and narrowed her eyes in frustration, she was hoping to finish him before reinforcements arrived.

Here to light it up, Set the world on fire.
Seraphina noticed Brood's eyes as they lingered on her and despite his face not changing in expression, she knew exactly what he was saying. They didn't need to exhange actual words to communicate with each other.  She simply responded to him with a smirk as if saying that she didn't need luck. She knew he hadn't meant it towards her fights in this first battle but towards something that was more heavy than that. This would be her opening act as the first mate of the Primetime Pirates.

With the recent revamp of the crew, she received yet another hat to don amongst the crew. However, she didn't seem worried about her newest role in the crew. None of the new recruits showed any potential in being able to lead the crew should the captain be absent. She wouldn't hesitate to take up the reigns in Brood's stead. It would take something more than this to waver the great confidence that she had in herself.

The red-head turned back to her task at hand, which was tormenting the lives of those on the ships blocking their way. She let out a laugh as the idiots on the decks danced around in panic as they tried to figure out where the shots were coming from. Eventually, her time of fun and games would be cut short by the words that came from Brood. She would remove herself from her perch on the deck of the Dead Air and slotted her rifle on her back where it belonged. She accepted her needle gun from Lukas and placed it in its own slot on her back as well.

"Time to fly, boys." Seraphina would say this with a smirk on her face. With that, she jumped over the railing and landed on a cannon ball just as it was fired off. This would be the first time that the Reiter boys had ever done this but it was a normal occurance for her. The boys stared after her in almost stunned silence but they both have very different looks on their face. Lukas looked nervous as always but his brother, Felix, looked like he couldn't wait to do the same. They both waited for the right opportunity and jumped onto their own artillery headed in the same direction as the crew's doctor.

The phyisician didn't hesitate when the cannon ball she was riding arrived at its destination. She jumped off onto the railing of the ship with that devilish smile on her face. "Who is ready for my experiments?" She didn't give them any time to question her words or even object. She simple removed her rifle from its place on her back and immediately went into her attack. It was a great time to watch these marines dance from up close especially before the boys would put themselves into the frey. [AOE - Spray 'N Pray on Female Marine Captain & Marine Group] The woman who appeared to be leading this particular group of sorry saps managed to keep herself from taking much damage unlike the men she led. This didn't discourage her but only allowed another smirk to come to her face. "Well I'm glad you aren't going to make this boring, girly."

The red-head jumped down from the railing she had been poised on and made her way towards the person in charge. The female captain who donned the typical suit with her jacket hanging from her shoulders but she easily desposed of it by rolling her shoulders. She looked like she was ready to fight and that was just what she would give her. She didn't leave the marine much time to think as she threw a kick at the woman as soon as she was close enough. [UT on Female Marine Captain] It didn't knock the woman back or to her feet but the heel from her choice of boot today sliced into her skin. This seemed to be enough to pysche the marine out at first. Seraphina dodged the first two attacks that she threw at her as if she was simply taking a stroll around the deck. She wasn't nearly as lucky when it came to the third attack, which was a kick to her side. She made a noise but it wouldn't send her flying or knock her to the ground either.

Both Rieter boys would arrive only moments after the fight between the two woman started. Lukas almost practically fell on his face as he jumped off the cannon ball but his older brother was a bit more graceful. His approach was similar to the doctor's and with a smirk on his face he went to work. He didn't bother to interfer with the fight that was taking place between Seraphina and the female captain. Felix wanted to fight his own battle and he wasn't about to help someone else fight theirs. His attacks were wild and sometimes it was obivous that they weren't well thought out. He may pass out some licks but he got them right back. Lukas was a bit more meticulous when it came to fighting and his approach was calmer. He took a deep breath as he removed his pistols from their hostlers. His eyes flickered between his brother and the red-head but he ultimately knew exactly what she would tell him if he tried to help her. He went about assisting his brother in taking down the marines while she took care of the captain. His shots were much more precise than his brother's and thats why they worked so well in battle together.

"Let's give'em hell, boys!" Seraphina would shout this as she heard the sound of battle around her with a smirk on her face as she looked the female captain in the eyes.

OOC:(-eh is a cough; -ee is a weeze)

Brood overlooked the progress of each of his potential crewmates, taking some time for himself while sitting comfortably against the railing of the Dead Air. He himself knew that he'd have to take out whatever strong entities lurked further within the island, especially if a blockage of this scope and magnitude presented itself to his crew this early. This was not going to be your average take-over. This place was reinforced.

He knew from his own miniscule information network that Notice had weak defenses and that comparatively he should have been able to ransack this place with little to no resistance. Yet here he was, peering out over what appeared to be a warzone. He knew that his individual commanders would be enough to get past this opposing group. Yet he allowed the Dead Air to get closer regardless. His grunts needed a workout after-all.

Taking a swig of his pitcher of Glögg, a spiced wine that his crew picked up on an unnamed island while on their way here, Brood began to slip into his roll as strategist. In his mind everything grew slower. His enemies were represented by O's and his own team was represented by X's. He'd lean his head to the left and then back to the right, paying attention to the various actions of not only his commanders, but of his fodder.

Once the Dead Air was in range enough for the rest of his crew to start making leaps aboard all of the other nearby vessels, Brood's expression became deadpan. Causing him to reach out and grab one of his men by the wrist before blinking slowly. "Tell two dozen men to stay aboard the ship. We will be boarded shortly." With that command he released his mobster-like underling, who nodded in a panicked sweat before complying.

Erudite found her smug expression swelling with an understated pride as she whipped her water whips outwards towards those foes who presented themselves to her. She moved as though she was participating in a ballet of death, moving with a mixture of gracefulness and aggression that wasn't easily pulled off by most corsairs upon these high seas. Yet she did so with all of the skill and vigor of a woman possessed.

Her foes were completely at her mercy as she crashed the cold briny blue into their ribs, launching them across the deck and over railings, her movements showcasing a melodic and dream-like oppression of those who got into her way. At least, until she felt a pang of pain thumping from her right shoulder. She'd reach out to touch it, dropping her control over her water whips. This allowed for the water to flood against the deck.

Such a lack of concentration causing most to become unbalanced as she checked her wound. Her eyes zipped around the area until it rested upon the man that unleashed hot lead into her. Given his dress and confident, he must have been the Captain of this here vessel. "Ouch. Now that went an' actually scratched me. Who might you be, sugah?" She called out with a seductive voice and a wiry smile begetting her feminine facial features.

"Round here they calls me Captain Goingud and it makes not a hair or tails of a difference what you try to do ma'am. You're fixin' ta' die here." He spat some chewing Tabaco out of his mouth onto the floor. The figure would reach down towards his pocket and pull out a cigar, placing it into his mouth and lighting it up. Taking slow puffs upon it as he trained his weapons onto the fishman warrior. Erudite took a moment to size up the soon-to-be crippled marine.

Her enemy was formidable, but not overly so. Being six feet and three inches tall, sporting a muscular build. He wore the standard marine issued outfit, though he had spurs on his boots and white hat that looked similar to a cowboys. His eyes were emerald in color and his face was chiseled with a five o'clock shadow for a beard. A salmon skinned brunette wielding a pair of revolvers that seemed to be gold plated.

"Ooo.~ That is quite a shame, splishlishlish. I reckon yous ain't gon' to live to see th-" She found herself cut off when a bullet came soaring near her face. It was an accurate shot, though she managed to move her head out of the way long before the bullet made it's target. "We ain't got no time fer all dat.." He chided her for taking her attention off the battle with conversation. Though she retorted regardless of the threat.

"Giddy up then, cowboy~" She didn't give the man much time to react as she reached for her hip and swung out her leather instrument towards his right wrist. Catching him, she rolled her leg so that she could use the weight of her rather sizable thighs to press down on the binding instrument. Causing enough force to jerk the marine forward towards her, offsetting his balance momentarily. Following up with a swing of her second whip to try and cut his throat.

Utilizing what little Rokushiki the man had, he was able to lift himself off the ground using Soru, evading the attack and breaking free of her whips grasp for a brief moment. She glared despite her smile, finding herself leaping around as a hail of gunfire rained down upon her. it seemed that he wasn't using a high caliber weapon, since the bullets couldn't rip through the deck of the ship itself. something that she noted while evading most of the incoming hellfire. Though she found her left leg and right arm taking damage.

She had too much pride in her to wince, however. Taking her time to pay attention to how her opponent shot his guns. It seemed as though his weapons held in them a great deal of recoil. For every time he shot at her, he seemed to have his arm jerk up, giving him a window in which he had to readjust to fire the next of his pistols. It was through this window of time that she managed to break through an otherwise mighty guard. Using her ability to make water malleable, she threw up the water in a burst to obscure  his vision.

She'd find herself crouching low, springing upwards and tossing both of her whips out to cut through the water momentarily. One rope went around his neck, the other around his right ankle. With the binding in place, she manage to leap up so high that she overtook his maximum height. Rotating on the core of her body's center of gravity, moving her own axis with enough speed to generate the momentum needed to drag the enemy captain into the air, she allowed him to go soring up above him. If only for a moment.

Using all of her might, generated by her rotation, she send the man soaring back down towards the ship as though he had become a meteor right. Given that she was naturally physically strong due to her race on top of this and it was no wonder that the ship capsized the moment that the enemy Captain found himself being flung into the deck of the ship. She was starting to realize what exactly Brood meant now when he told the crew they needed to go to the Grandline. She overwhelmed this man with little effort of her own.

She'd land atop the sinking vessel moments afterwards, waiting for her opponent to resurface. But the only thing that floated up was his porcelain hat. Reaching into the water, she took the object and set it upon her head. Looking towards the depths below. She was right to assume he died. The man's neck broke the moment his head made impact with the sturdy deck. It was an unfortunate circumstance to be sure.,, if she was empathetic. Luckily, she wasn't. With a smile on her face, she'd look over to see what the other's did. Locking eyes with Desmond as he sat upon a mountain of slumped over bodies...
